Tracking Warranties #

For each piece of equipment, track:

  • Warranty Start: Usually installation date
  • Warranty Expiration: End of coverage
  • Warranty Type: Parts, labor, or both
  • Extended Warranty: If purchased

Warranty Status Indicators #

  • Active (Green): Under warranty
  • Expiring Soon (Yellow): Within 90 days
  • Expired (Red): No longer covered

Scheduling Maintenance #

  1. Open equipment details
  2. Click Schedule Maintenance
  3. Set frequency (Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-annually, Annually)
  4. Set notification preferences
  5. Save

Maintenance Types #

  • Filter Change: Monthly-Quarterly – Replace air filters
  • Spring Tune-Up: Annual – AC check, clean coils
  • Fall Tune-Up: Annual – Heating system check
  • Comprehensive: Annual – Full system inspection

When maintenance is due:

  • Dashboard notification appears
  • Customer can be notified automatically
  • Easy creation of maintenance work order

Best Practices #

  1. Record all equipment
  2. Fill in all available information
  3. Keep information current
  4. Track serial numbers
  5. Note equipment locations
  6. Schedule regular maintenance
  7. Never miss warranty claims
