Build a flat-rate price from visible assumptions
Enter the labor hours expected for the job and the loaded hourly labor cost, not merely the technician’s wage. Add the contractor’s parts cost, selected parts markup, consumables, truck or dispatch cost, and overhead allocated to the job. Finally, enter the desired margin.
The calculator displays the marked-up parts amount separately from total job cost. That separation matters because markup and margin answer different questions. Markup describes the amount added to a cost. Margin describes profit as a percentage of the final selling price.
Review the suggested price
The suggested flat-rate price is a planning result, not an automatic customer quote. Review the scope, taxes, permits, warranty exposure, payment costs, unusual access, after-hours requirements, and other job risks before using a price.
Practical example
A two-hour repair can require more than two hours of wage expense. Loaded labor, the service vehicle, commonly used consumables, office support, and the cost of acquiring and stocking parts all contribute to what the job must recover. Entering those items separately makes the estimate easier to audit and update.
Limitations
This general calculator cannot determine local taxes or the exact cost structure of your company. Keep the inputs aligned with your price book and current accounting records.
